Affiliate disclosure

Proven Shelf participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

What that means in practice

Most product links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, Amazon pays us a percentage of the sale. You pay exactly the same price you would have paid otherwise.

Some products pay us more than others

Amazon's commission is not flat. It varies by category, and brands can run limited campaigns that pay a higher rate on specific products for a set window. So yes, on any given page we may stand to earn more from one pick than another.

We handle that the only way that works: the order of a shortlist is set before commission is looked at, and a product never enters a list because of what it pays. If we ever accept a paid placement, it will be labeled as one on the page itself, not disclosed here in the small print.

Free samples

Some brands offer review samples. Where we accept one, the review says so at the top. A sample buys our time, not our verdict, and it does not come with copy approval.

Prices and availability

We do not print prices. Amazon's terms only allow a site to display price or stock information pulled live from their API, and a number we typed by hand last month would be wrong by the time you read it. Click through for the current price.

Installation, safety and the law

Some of the gear here can hurt you or burn the house down. A laser cutter needs eye protection rated for its wavelength and real extraction. A Level 2 charger is a branch circuit, and in most places installing one is permitted work for a licensed electrician. Resin is a skin sensitizer. A drone over a certain weight has to be registered and there are places you may not fly it.

We write what the manufacturer specifies and what owners report. That is not an engineering sign-off, an inspection, or legal advice for where you live. Read the manual, pull the permit, and where the manual and this site disagree, the manual wins.

Getting in touch

Corrections and questions about any of the above go to our contact page. If a fact on this site is wrong, we would rather hear it from you than leave it up.
